Vigil at the UN

The UN Human Rights Council will be conducting its Universal Periodic Review of Iran on 2/15 – an evaluation of the current human rights situation. We will hold a vigil outside the UN on 22 Bahman/Feb.11, the anniversary of the Revolution, to speak out against the ongoing human rights abuses in Iran. THIRD COMMITTEE DRAFT RESOLUTIONS ADDRESS HUMAN RIGHTS SITUATIONS»

By the terms of three draft resolutions approved today in the Third Committee (Social, Humanitarian and Cultural), the General Assembly would address the human rights situations in three Member States — Myanmar, Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, and Iran — despite strong objections by numerous delegations over the ongoing tabling of country-specific resolutions.
